On 3 April, 2017, the Research Project Department of Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TTI) together with ALLIANCE project representatives carried out a targeted meeting with industry representatives in order to explore opportunities of potential financing from ERDF for realizing collaborative research.

On 22 March, 2017 Prof. Irina Yatskiv (Jackiva), Vice-rector of Transport and Telecommunication Institute and coordinator of ALLIANCE project moderated a round table formed by ALLIANCE’s stakeholders.

Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TTI), Traffic, Transportation and Logistics Laboratory of the University of Thessaly (TTLog) and Fraunhofer Institute for Factory Operation and Automation (IFF) organize the 1st ALLIANCE Summer School “Sustainable Transport Interchanges Program (STIP)” which will be held on 16-22 July, 2017, in Riga, Latvia.

The ALLIANCE consortium would like to announce PhD themes and vacancies in the Transport and Telecommunication Institute. ALLIANCE Dissemination Managers, Prof. Eftihia Nathanail and Dr. Giannis Adamos (Traffic, Transportation and Logistics Laboratory – University of Thessaly, Greece) participated in the Transportation Research Board (TRB) 96th Annual Meeting, which was held in Washington D.C. in January 8-12, 2017.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Factory Operation and Automation IFF and the Otto von Guericke University’s Institute of Logistics and Material Handling Systems (ILM) will organize the 10th International Logistics Doctoral Student Workshop on June 20, 2017, during the 20th IFF Science Days in Magdeburg from June 20 to 22, 2017.

Today on 31th December, 2016 the first year of the ALLIANCE project comes to an end. During the first period lots of achievements and activities related to ALLIANCE’s scope have been realized.

On 14th December, 2016 Road Transport Administration Ltd., Latvia’s Employer’s Confederation, JSC Riga International Coach Terminal, LDZ Apsardze Ltd. and Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TTI) supported by the Riga City Council, organized the 2nd Workshop on “Social and physical safety of passengers on public transport and transport infrastructure”. The 1st workshop took place in TTI’s premises in June, 2014.

The ALLIANCE Young Researchers’ Seminar: Sustainable Transport Interchanges within the framework of the 16th International Conference on Reliability and Statistics in Transportation and Communication (RelStat-16), was hosted by the Transport and Telecommunication Institute in Riga, the capital of the Republic of Latvia, in October 19-22, 2016.
