Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TTI) (http://www.tsi.lv/en) together with partners from ALLIANCE project:

- Fraunhofer Institute for Factory Operation and Automation (IFF) (https://www.iff.fraunhofer.de/)
are organizing the 1st summer school entitled: “Sustainable Transport Interchanges Program (STIP) – Part I: Freight Transportation”. The school will take place on 16-22 July, 2017 in TTI, and 25 young researchers from Latvia, Lithuania, Greece and Germany will participate.
The vision for the Summer schools in Sustainable Transport Interchanges Program (STIP) is the preparation of a new generation of transportation researchers and professionals in the area of transport interchanges and the goals are to train young researchers on specialized topics, defined as vivid for Baltic States through intensive courses and to enable the international networking of young transport researchers.
The 5 day agenda includes a number of activities, such as:
- special courses (developed in the framework of ALLIANCE project and provided by international team of lecturers)
- students’ project
- technical visit to the Riga Commercial port
- special invited lecturers:
- Jens Klauenberg (Germany) ”Current status and future trends in freight transport”
- Graham Ellis (UK) ”Freight terminals – facing the challenges, a real world perspective”
- and concert, Riga tour, dinner in nice place in Old Riga and other interesting events!
